Burnt Offering in Old Testament

The focus of this thesis will be an exegesis of the term burnt offering in Old Testament. The diploma thesis deals with the location of the cult (Tent of Meeting, temple), priests in Israel, human offerings and reconstruction of ritual burnt offerings with an evaluation of particular acts based on translation and interpretation of the first chapter of Leviticus. The purpose of this work is to detect, what function and meaning this ritual had for the community of Israel, as well as what message the texts contain, with respect to burnt offerings for the current reader.

The History of the Parish in Most 1945-1990

The aim of this work was to describe the history of the parish in Most in years 1945 - 1990. This period comprises almost half a century, which was full of dramatic events in the state, political, municipal, parochial and private area. The defeat of the Nazi ideology occured at the beginning of this period and the fall of the atheistic ideology at its end. Also the parish in Most was afflicted by many changes and strokes during this period. Firstly, it was the post- war terror against German inhabitants and their violent removal. Shortly afterwards occurs the communist putsch, which leads to the initially hidden and soon afterwards to the open fight against Churches. The Church becomes a slave to the supervision and the authority of state officials. The parish in Most with its churches is almost symbolically in the spirit of the time swept off from the earth's surface at this time and the asylum was founded in a small parish hall. After nearly twenty years of living in the constant provisional arrangement has the parish its own church again. The totalitarianism is at the end of its power and the democracy is coming. The parish in Most is learning to live and to breath freely after many decades of the lack of the freedom. Keywords History, church, parish, churches, priests

Immigration of foreign clergy to Czechia

The theses engages with foreign clergy migration to Czechia. The theoretical part of the work dedicates to the discussion with literature. In practical part focuses on methods and data sources. The goal of this theses is to find out if there is clergy migration to Czechia and, if so, how is its structure. The result is that this migration really exists and these migrants compose indispensable part of clergy, especially in Roman Catholic Church. Most of them are in Prague and its surroundings. From countries of origin predominates Poland and then Slovakia. The majority of foreign clericals comes from other European countries, especially from Poland and Slovakia. Burn-out syndrom and its impact on workers of helping profession in the Church

This diploma thesis deals with the topic of burnout syndrome and its impact on Church related community workers, in order to determine how much are these workers endangered, how to take care of these workers and whether their employers are familiar with the risks of burnout syndrome. The first chapters are devoted to the theoretical definition of burnout syndrome in the overall view on this issue, but also takes a closer look on Church related community workers in the helping profession in the Church. I'm trying to capture a fully describe the motivation for helping, factors leading to burnout syndrome, diagnosis, prevention and treatment. The final chapter and the whole practical part is devoted to the history and characteristics of the studied groups, which form the priests of the three largest churches in our country: Roman Catholic, Evangelical and Czechoslovak Hussite Church. This part is a quantitative research. To illustrate the work I decided to include three case studies that document the real life stories of burnout syndrome at different stages.

Herman Joseph Tyl

The work called Herman Joseph Tyl offers a total lack on the life of this important religious figure, the abbot of one of the oldest Norbertine monastery founded by Czech nobleman blessed Hroznata in Teplá, which experienced the suffering of two totalitarian regimes of the 20th century: Nazis in concentration camps and prisons in Communist labor and uranium camps, as well as various interventions in the persecution of his life in the form of withdrawal of government approval. The work is given to the period of his life, which has so far lacked the processing. This is particularly Tylova childhood, adolescence, studies and life after 1958, when he worked as a warehouseman at Cakovském collective farm and returned to the priesthood, which he re-intervention prevented Communist totalitarian power by removing state approval, to the end of his life again to priesthood returned and was even elected abbot of the monastery Tepla. The work also offers a historical and critical evaluation of the data known from the Tyl autobiography affecting in particular the period from his arrest by the Gestapo in 1942 until his release from prison and their communist completion in the light sources. White crow dressed in black. Life's journey of František Jan Kroiher (1871-1948)

The present rigorous thesis is about the personality of František Jan Kroiher (1871-1948). He represented a very engaged person in a public area. His activity was very extensive and intervened in minor works in the country up to the contacts with the highest clerical and political circles. Individual chapters are devoted Kroiher´s childhood and study, career of the priest in the South Bohemia, his taking part in the reform efforts of the Czech clergy, work in a cooperative and economic sphere, a politic career in Agrarian Party and his extensive journalistic activities and sponsorship. At the end there is evaluation of Kroiher´s personality, followed by the list of sources and bibliography, index of names, a list of abbreviations and supplements. The rigorous thesis was based on prospecting quantity of the archival documents, period newspapers and literature. Site of pilgrimage Křemešník. Changes of the realm of memory in 1918-1948

The aim of the bachelor thesis is to clerify changes of the site of pilgrimage called Křemešník in social memory during the first thirty years of the 20th century. At first, the study captures ecclesiastic history in Bohemia and in the Pelhřimov district as well as older history of Křemešník. Next, commemorative books written by local priests are analysed to document the main events of the observed period. Emphasis is also put on everyday life and on the personalities of the priests and their relations to the site of pilgrimage. Next part is dedicated to the pilgrimages, because the memory of the site was created especially by them. Attention is also paid to legends and miracles, which are connected with the spring on Křemešník. Popularity of the site is backed up by the following chapters, which deal with marriages and christenings in the pilgrimage church and with old publications about Křemešník. The bachelor thesis is summarized in the conclusion, which also provides additional options for further research.
